As an advanced construction laboratory at Lox Co., our main responsibilities involve testing and evaluating the quality, safety, and performance of construction materials and processes—such as concrete, asphalt, steel, soil, raw materials, plastic & steel pipes and structural components—based on local and international standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO, BS, DIN, EN, ACI). Our primary role as a quality control and research facility is to ensure structural integrity, enhance public safety, and improve the durability and sustainability of construction projects while supporting the competitiveness of manufacturers and contractors.
The lab provides comprehensive quality control (QC) and material testing services to verify compliance with engineering specifications and regulatory requirements.
Here are the key QC services typically provided:
1. Concrete, Cement & Additives Testing: Compressive strength, chemical tests, air content, setting time, and durability assessments.
2. Asphalt & Bituminous Materials: Penetration grade, softening point, viscosity, Marshall stability, and mix design optimization.
3. Raw materials & Geotechnical Analysis: Bentonite, Perlite, Microsilica, Iron Ore Pellets, Hematite, Barytes, fillers and bleaching earth.
4. Steel & Reinforcement Testing: Tensile strength, yield strength, bend tests, and corrosion resistance evaluation for rebars , plates, wire rods & tubing sections.
5. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Ultrasonic testing, rebound hammer, ground-penetrating radar (GPR), and infrared thermography for structural integrity.
6. Environmental & Durability Testing: Chloride ingress, sulfate resistance, carbonation depth, and alkali-silica reaction (ASR) testing.
7. Building Materials & Composites: Gypsum boards, Ceramic tiles, Gypsum & plaster, adhesive tile, Grouts, Bricks, AAC Blocks, Paints, Refractory bricks.
